Good Things
Dec. 8th, 2006 09:01 pmWinter (such as it is, here in Hogtown) has limped in at long last. Morning and night for the past few days I have wrapped my head in a cotton head-scarf, then strapped my helmet on atop it; donned a pair of those cheap nylon gloves then pulled on my not-quite-so-cheap ski-gloves over them before taking my bicycle onto the mean streets of Toronto.
The chilled air is bracing, almost exhilirating, as I cycle along Queen, to work and back home again. There is something about battling the elements - especially the cold - that reminds you of just how lovely life can be.
You may find yourself cursing your ex-girlfriend; you may find yourself dreaming of driving an electric car; you may find yourself shivering in the cold; and you may find yourself kissing your cat, but when the bike ride's done (same old way as it ever was), you may say - then how did I get here!?!
But I digress.

There is beauty and strange wonders in this world, such as ...
Red: Drupal is an open-source content management system. Polish up that resume.
Robyn: I'm glad you're so happy where you are now.
Young Geoffrey: You have a good life, but you should quit smoking and also get out of the apartment a little more often.
Love always,
Young Geoffrey

There is beauty and strange wonders in this world, such as ...
- The latest photo posted to torontophoto; and
- Jonathan Goldstein's subtly hilarious radio program, Wiretap; and
- the brilliant speed and simplicity involved in upgrading my out-dated version of the Mozilla Suite with Seamonkey; and
- simply being alive.

Date: 2006-12-09 02:35 pm (UTC)It's funny as soon as I started reading the line "You may find yourself cursing your ex-girlfriend" I was thinking "Same as it ever was" even before you got to it.
Thanks for the SEAMONKEY link. I haven't really used anything but FIREFOX. I haven't incorporated any add-ons. The HTML one sounds intriguing. Which reminds me I need to update my webpage.
How goes the writing?
Same As It Ever Was
Date: 2006-12-13 12:17 am (UTC)As for Seamonkey, it's essentially the old Netscape 4X, updated for the 21st century. If you're happy with Firefox, there's not real need to install the browser/email/etc program.
And as for the writing, er, I'll be getting to it any day now.
