... Pride is coming up so this is probably as good a time as any.
My anonymity is gone.
I've told both my girlfriend and my long-time best-friend how to find me here. No doubt, other will follow.
Damn that desire to share things that matter with people close to you.

Date: 2004-06-23 07:09 pm (UTC)Ack! Three wondrous lines of pithy wisdom lost to the evils of the LJ gods and the bad server. Rarely has such thought and insight been shared, such deep thinking revealed!
But I'll do my best to summarize:
1) You haven't already told them? I told mine (when I had 'em) almost immediately! I hold nothing back! It's my parents I hesitate to inform!
2) This won't cut into your stories will it? Some of your best "reality" stuff involved said best friend and girlfriend. I'd hate to think we'll lose that because you've gone gun-shy!
(imagine those two points in wondrous prose)

Where the hell was I? (Damn those Simpsons!)
Er, yes ...
Which reminds me of a charming ditty I learned in my youth ...
Oh yes:
Oh the white folks
Hate the black folks
All of my folks
Hate all of your folks
It's American as apple pie.
{...}
Oh Protestants
Hate the Catho-lics
And the Catholics
Hate the Protestents
And the Hindus
Hate the Moslems
And everybody hates the Jews.
So during
National Brotherhood Week (repeat, &ct)
No, really. Where was I?
Oh yes.
No, I haven't told them. I've alluded to it, but both had the sensitivity (or lack of interest?) to respect my ambivilence about whether or not to keep this "place" private.
But two of you are already in my RL life, and so have become part of my life - my "place" isn't private in any real sense anymore anyway.
I don't know whether this will "cut into" my stories. (No. Come to think of it I do know. It will change my stories. I wonder whether or not it witll "cut into" them.
I always have been conflicted about what I'm doing out here; there are 4 or 5 posts about which I had second thoughts and that are now "eyes-only" (namely, mine).
Christ.
This is random enough it should be a post of its own. Or maybe not.
Not every typist can live up to the dictographic qualities of Jimmy Joyce, the writer for whom No Detail Was Too Unimportant to cut from his obsese manuscripts.
Where Santa Claus saw a bowlful of jelly, the rest of us see a tub of lard.
Hell, I drink enough there'll pro'ly be something or other to catch your pruient eye.
And with that, I will call it a night, good sir.

You communicate differently when you know that people you know will be reading what you write. Well, I don't think I have too much to be embarassed about, so I think I'll carry on. (But I'm contemplating creating another journal, one which I will - by damn - keep entirely anonymous.)
We'll see.
Speaking of seeing, Laura has "decided" that we're going to the pride parade (which - amazingly - will be my first time) - she's going to return the favour and introduce me to some of her friends. Maybe we'll see you there, too.
