I suppose I'd better hope that Google releases a Linux version of Chrome sooner than later. If the Firefox trend continues I'll be switching to Opera, which isn't a browser I particularly like.
I gave up on FF for a while, after version 3 came out. I'm using a Windows machine, but I have to say that when I replaced my laptop, FF did seem to work better.
What issues do you have with FF? I've had none, thus far, with the newest release. In fact, it's the stablest version I know of. That GoogleChrome browser is a resource HOG. Safari is the worst of all the browsers, I should state. And ODDLY enough, the latest version of Internet Explorer is the safest of all the browsers. Apparently they overhauled the thing. It's also really fast. But I still won't use it.
Frequent crashes, usually for no apparent reason — ie, I've only got a few tabs open, none of them running anything terribly intensive.
Mind you, I upgraded to the latest version of Ubuntu Linux at the same time, so it's conceivable it's a problem with the OS and not the browser.
Gotta admit I'm shocked (shocked! I tells ya!) to hear anything good about IE, but then I haven't touched it since not too long after version 6 came out, which is going back a ways. (Nevertheless I commend your refusal to use it; my bitterness over Microcraps destruction of Netscape dies hard.)

Date: 2009-06-02 01:31 am (UTC)Firefox seemed to upgrade itself about 5 times in the past two months and its been getting buggier and buggier on my machines.
It's not unusual for it to crash once a night on me now.
I thought it was my ageing PC, but its also crashing on my new laptop as well.
Hmmmm, may have to rethink my unconditional love for the thing.
Reality rears it's ugly head
