Anemia pertains to a lack of iron in the blood, not protein.
It is extremely simple to get protein from a non-animal based diet, providing you have access to legumes, nuts, seeds, and soy. I get regular blood testing done, and I donate blood. I also suffer from a very low level of iron in my blood, but I eat well, am healthier than when I ate meat, and thus, would say that the lifestyle is working for me.
I'm going to stress this, I wrote that little rant out through a spurt of argument with my mother, and in an extremely emotional and vulnerable state. I'm going to sit down when I get a break sometime and discuss a more rational way of explaining why I am vegan.
