ed_rexWell, Girl Saturday was glad I didn't make a move, but disappointed at the same time because, she said, she has "always wanted the opportunity to throw a drink in a cad's face".
And so, as that hideous phrase goes, "It's all good". I've expressed myself and no longer have the stress of bottling things up, and she isn't freaked out; our budding friendship can continue to grow and I can focus my animal lusts elsewhere.
The lesson here, Gentle Readers, is simple. Be open about what you want, but accept with grace and good humour if you don't get it. In some ways, friends are harder to find that lovers anyway.
