Thanks, I sure hope she'll be one to appreciate this sort of thing as time goes on (I would have).
I must say, this fatherhood thing (so far) is even more than I'd imagined it would be be — than I could have imagined it would be.
Though I feel it necessary to say, it isn't for everybody! About a month or so ago, we went on a road-trip to introduce the kid to various parts of the family, and my (almost 30-year) niece held her, the first time she'd held a baby in her arms.
My niece has, pretty much since forever, said that she doesn't like kids and doesn't want to have kids. So, when we had some time alone later on that night, I made a point of telling her that I fully supported her in that choice ("If you don't want kids, don't have kids! There's no shortage of people in this world!"), no matter how comfortable she'd looked holding Asta.
She's not getting it from her mother, but I'm sure a 30 year-old childless woman is getting pressure from some quarters.
But I digress. Yes, she is a cute kid, it's okay to say so! :)
It's okay, she *is*
