I certainly like this list better than the ones just giving name, author, and something irrelevent like number of pages. It's nice to see the actual review.
Have you ever seen the 3-part television series "A Brief History of Disbelief", by Jonathan Miller? Not all the PBS stations here picked it up but I have to hope they're more enlightened in the great north.
I keep wanting to hate Battlestar Galactica but I can't stop watching it. The first time I wanted to hate it was before it came out, when I learned that Starbuck and Boomer were women. I just wanted the old show, with better special effects and more plot. Once I wrapped my mind around the concept that it was a new show, I was hooked. The second time I wanted to hate them and stop watching was when they had a very short season and saying they weren't coming back for almost a year. Damn them, I thought, life moves on and I won't watch when they come back. It's too long. Well, that didn't last... I was angry till they did come back, then I had to keep watching. Now I'm just impatient and want the story to continue.
When I was in the airport last weekend, I picked up the book "You Suck" by Christopher Moore. I really enjoyed it, and picked up two more of his books in the library on Friday. One of them is "Bloodsucking Fiends", which was, I think, the first story that "You Suck" was based on. Not sure if there are any earlier ones. At any rate, given your reading taste, you might like this author, assuming your fondness for sci-fi extends to vampire comedy.
