Maybe their religion is "all they have"; Still anyone with any common sense in them (not just Those Evil Right-Wing People) can see that this reaction is waaaaaaaay over the line. In the 21st century this isn't called "religious pride", it's called the Inquisition. Which only goes to show you that Islam is about 600 years behind the rest of them, still living in the Dark Ages.
What they're doing is proving it to those (ahem, Egalitarian Lefty Good Guys) who still had any sympathy left for them after 9/11.
