You are right, I am reading your journal for my own purposes but you have every right to feel esteemed since it is your writing.
The reason I'm reading it right now is because I feel like it is more human than a novel or the news which I would otherwise read because you, the writer can see my comments and respond. I seem to be one of those people that sees food as not only a nurturing thing but a social thing so I am reading it with my meals so that I feel like I'm talking to someone.
Also, your relationship with Laura seems to loosely parallel my own with Jin. Just given the perhaps one-sided love (you said that she had begun to not respect you but I haven't gotten there yet)
