You know, now that you've said it, I realized that I haven't really liked TV Holden as much as Book Holden. Had you asked me before, I think I would have said the actor is having a hard time of it, but maybe it is that the writers have been having difficulty finding the key to the character. TV doesn't have much experience dealing with idealists who act without enough knowledge to accomplish their goals. (Or at least, whose ignorance makes them fuck up as they would in real life.)
That said, I think I liked him better, found him more nuanced, the second time around.
