Yeah, that's one pissed-off Charlie Brown, isn't it? Not the almost-broken character from the later strips, but rather of someone who's about ready to kick someone in the rear-end, really hard.

The essay sounds interesting, though I'm sorry to say I've only read a few Krazy Kat strips here and there over the years, mostly accompanying articles or reviews in The Comics Journal.
